Say what you want about him, but I am loving former President “The Donald” Trump. I know I owe a lot of the credit for my newfound admiration of The Donald to Twitter and Facebook. Their continued ban of his blathering bloviation has been a blessing. And yet, despite the lack of non-stop coverage of his “twits” he still controls the Republican Party.
That’s what people are saying.
Speaking of blessings, here is Trump’s Easter message: “Happy Easter to ALL, including the Radical Left CRAZIES who rigged our Presidential Election, and want to destroy our Country!”
How do I know…
Rush Limbaugh passed today.
That’s going to leave a big hole in the radio. Rush was an acerbic jerkwad of a radio host, but I liked him. None of the “conservative” radio Rush Limbaugh wannabes that ruin the airwaves every day have the talent that Rush had in his little pinky. Right-wing propaganda will take years to recover.
Rush could insult anyone and get away with it. He was a racist. He was funny. He was as Teflon as Trump, but several degrees more likable, and equally as hateable at the same time. Go figure! …
The partisan politics that have taken over the country have an origin. It didn’t happen overnight. It wasn’t really planned because no one in our government has ever been capable of long-term thinking. This post is not about the origins of our partisanship. That’s for another day. It’s about the present day divide.
Why so angry, Bunkie?
I claim some responsibility for that. In my last post I was a tad unkind to a few Republicans. So I am at fault. Accidents happen! Let’s agree that Democrats suck and Donald Trump is a shit stain on the skin of the…
A syndrome without a name nor a definition exists in the United States Senate. It defies human nature. There has never been a phenomenon like it. It’s as if the Senate has been castrated. If they were horses, we’d say they were geldings. If they were bulls, and not just full of it, we’d call them steers. Since they’re human and without balls — eunuchs.
The eunuchs only exist in the minds of the incredulous audience watching such a horrid display of cowardice. There is no doubt that Donald Trump lied his ass off for months, organized the mob to…
This video played today in the Senate trial of Donald John Trump. It is appalling. This government under this Constitution is the cause that all the men in all the caskets in Arlington Cemetery and in marked, and unmarked, locations around the world defended with their blood. In a matter of two hours these “patriots” trampled the legacy of all that fought and died for this American Republic.
Embarrassing? No worse than any other minute of the disastrous last four years. Shameful. You’d have to really try to sink lower. Traitorous? Borderline.
Why not traitorous? These dipshits believed they were…
Barack Hussein Obama had a “private” conversation that was leaked (and well it should be) that quoted him saying, “It’s part of the reason why the response to this global crisis has been so anemic and spotty. It would have been bad even with the best of governments. It has been an absolute chaotic disaster when that mind-set — of ‘what’s in it for me’ and ‘to heck with everybody else’ — when that mind-set is operationalized in our government.”
Anemic and spotty? Chaotic disaster? Best of governments? Barack, you’re too classy for your own good. Can’t you just…
I love the number 13. I was born on the 13th. It wasn’t a Friday, but when it falls on a Friday, I look forward to it. I don’t know why it’s bad luck. Maybe something to do with a baker’s dozen? In my opinion, getting 13 donuts when ordering a dozen is good luck. “Unlucky 13” is a conspiracy theory against a perfectly perfect number.
It was a Friday when I turned 13. Some kids at the pool held me down and tried to spank me. As the spanker prepared to strike, his windup hit the wall behind…
Here’s where we stand:
Today, the death toll in the United States will surpass 80,000 people. The curve we are on began March 20, give or take. It took 51 days to kill 80,000 people. America averages approximately 2,000 deaths from COVID-19 per day. At that rate we’ll hit 100,000 in another 10 days, give or take. Two months to kill 100,000 people. It’s just a flu.
Many states have opened their economies with the idea that people will have learned that other people are potentially infected. Physical distancing will be practiced. Everyone will wear a mask. If you’ve…
I dropped off the grid a few days this week.
Last year I purchased five acres of raw land high in the hills of Colorado. No electricity. No Internet. Not much phone unless I stand on a stump facing south holding my mouth just right. Maybe two bars. Enough to text, but not enough to send a photo.
I have a friend, Freddy Bon Jox, that I think might be smart enough to physically distance responsibly. We go up there in the same vehicle, spitting and coughing on each other. …
I watched three documentaries since the stay-at-home began. I usually don’t watch documentaries, especially about the environment. David Attenborough needs to lull me with the marvelous splendor of the planet in HD or I won’t watch it. Too many issues to wrap my head around. They bum me out.
Michael Moore released “Planet of the Humans” for free on Youtube. Free movies? Moore’s a communist!
I’ve never understood Middle America’s disdain for Moore. He has always held up for the little guy. The little guy hates him for it. Perhaps it’s because he pokes the dominant, and now presumed…
